News Article Online updates for locally-installed products

In March last year we launched a mechanism to deliver online data updates to users of our range of locally-installed products and address datasets. Up until this point, we distributed the latest changes to PAF® and other datasets by sending CDs in the post.

While this approach did the job, we wanted to respond to the growing number of new and existing customers who wished to receive data updates in the same way that most software updates are now delivered - online, not by CD.

As well as responding to this demand, it allows us to:

• Provide updates more quickly - no more waiting for CDs in the post
• Retain flexibility - you still get to choose when to install a data update
• Reduce our impact on the environment - by reducing our reliance on CDs and packaging
• Keep our prices down - by avoiding fluctuating delivery charges

From this month, the vast majority of customers who use our locally-installed products will take advantage of online data updates for the first time. This follows recent efforts carefully to communicate with customers about what is changing and how it will affect them. Our support team will be on hand to minimise disruption and will be pleased to respond to any questions.
