Innovative address specialist Allies Computing has been awarded a three-year contract to build addressing software for Royal Mail’s Address Management Unit (AMU).
The contract is for an initial three-year period from November 2014 with potential for two subsequent one-year extensions.
The software will provide users with a simple way to find addresses and geographic data within several databases maintained by Royal Mail’s AMU including the Postcode Address File (PAF). Users will also be able to export lists of addresses and print address labels. An API version for software developers will also be available.
Allies CEO Dan Cooper said: “We are delighted to secure this contract; it’s an achievement which reflects the increasing strength and reach of our business.”
“Ultimately, we fought off strong competition by demonstrating our ability to combine innovative search technology with a fantastic user experience.”
“To be selected to build an addressing solution for the world’s most recognisable addressing brand is an epoch moment for Allies.”
